As a member of the Northwest campus community, you may encounter a student or employee that is experiencing a mental health crisis. You do not need to be an expert to recognize when someone needs help. If you can tell a student or employee is not doing well, you can refer them to or help them access a network of support.
If the student or employee is an imminent risk to themselves or others, contact the University Police Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at 660-562-1254.
If you feel they would benefit from additional professional resources, you can submit a concerning behavior report on the Northwest website, consult with the Wellness Center staff, or take the student to the Wellness Center for a triage appointment. Contact the Wellness Center at 660-562-1348.
Call or text the National Suicide Hotline by dialing 988 to connect with crisis counselors for emotional support and other services.
If you suspect a student or employee is the victim of sexual violence including, but not limited to, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking, contact University Police (660.562.1254) for resources 24/7.
